Oktet is an improvisation collective that has been working together since 2006. The partners are eight creative dancers and a musician, one of the leaders in the field in Israel, experienced artists and choreographers. The members of the group came from diverse backgrounds (including dance, contact, acting, street performance and martial arts) and together formed a rich performative language that moves freely between abstract dance and dramatic expression and communication with the audience. The group performs together in performances, some entirely improvised, others based on a theme or review.

Oktet members: Iris Erez, Sigal Bergman, Sharon Hilleli, Inbal Aloni, Yuval Goldstein, Noam Carmeli, Shlomit Fundaminsky, Yaniv Mintzer (musician), Philip Smith.

Present Simple is a physical, visual, vocal and imaginary performance. Performers from the
worlds of dance, theater and music meet for an hour. It is a dialogue between the artists, which
develops, with the help of movement, text and music. Stories arise and pass one after another.
The instinctive movement, text and sound allow stories to appear of their own accord and
everyday emotions to take up space, fill the empty space and build it anew each time in a
different way
The show is a conversation, without a dramatic framework, in which the first elements of
interpersonal communication are revealed. The essence of the artists' encounter remains alone
on stage, exposed, in a direct manner. The audience shares in the moves, which are made to
find a dialogue and an environment with one, shared language. The audience directly
experiences the creative process of the performance, which takes place while it is being
performed in front of them, on stage
